UV-C LED light is not actually on the visible light spectrum for the human eye. Visible light is ~400 nm to ~700 nm, while, the LARQ Bottle emits 275nm. The light you are seeing is in fact due to the UV being absorbed by material in the system, which is why the light seems dim to the naked eye.
While you may be unable to see the light, UV disinfection is widely and routinely used around the world for drinking water disinfection and is approved and endorsed as safe by organizations like the WHO, US EPA, and NSF. The UV-C LED technology inside LARQ has been tested by independent third-party labs and is effective against various germs, including E.coli, Salmonella, Staph, and MSRA. It will not impact heavy metals, chemicals, fluoride, or minerals and does not have a filter so the water should be clear to the eye before filling the LARQ Bottle.
